Dear Reader,
As if it weren't enough to enjoy a lovely time with family and friends in my hometown, the weather over this short week has been delightful - sunny and warmer. What an incredible gift to have this type of weather in early March! (Dare I say, spring may have sprung?!!)
This afternoon my parents, my husband, my son, and I went on a walk around my parents' neighborhood. There is a small pond near their home, and so we walked over to see the geese. We also happened upon two mallard ducks - a male and female, which my son watched with much interest. My son pointed out that the baby duck was missing; we suggested that maybe they had a secret nest. And then he went on to collecting sticks for his dad to carry for the rest of the walk. Our moments outside seemed to last a while as my son lingered over the joy of time spent outside - just as life should be, I thought.
We were still bundled in winter coats, but the sunshine felt glorious. The snow has been melting, hopefully not to really return until next winter. This walk was, quite literally, a breath of fresh air.
Sincerely,
Abi
