Graduation Nameplates

Dear Reader,

Does it bother you when quantities don't match up? The classic example of the 10 hot dogs and 8 hot dog buns comes to mind. Another example: high school graduation announcements. You place an order for 50, maybe 100, announcements, and then order these little nameplate cards to include with the announcement, which come in a box of 500.

So, for over a decade approximately 400 nameplates have sat in a box with all of my high school memorabilia. Not too long ago, my son came across this little box, and, with a bit of help from his grandparents, devised a fun activity with them. He hides in a closet and sends "letters" under the door. The recipient reads the letter and either replies or waits for the next correspondence to arrive. In the past few weeks, my son has even begun reading the letters to us through the closet doors so that we are clear on what his note communicates.

I love this activity. It's creative. And, finally, a purpose for those little nameplates with my maiden name. Fun.

Sincerely,
Abi
