Dear Reader,
As I have posted before, the favorite television program for my son probably continues to be Curious George. One of his favorite episodes takes place in the country where the Man with the Yellow Hat and George together compete in a corn maze race. With my previous post about mazes, you can imagine how much my little boy loves to watch a maze race (especially, if I also note that my son does not walk anywhere, it's usually a brisk jog or a full-out run.)
Last week we spent time with my parents in Chicago and visited the Morton Arboretum. The Arboretum has an outdoor area of hedges that they have trimmed and pruned to create a maze. My son was beside himself with excitement, and, though I strongly encouraged him to slow down, he ran through the entire maze. Three times. I, trying to be the protector of any poor children slowly moseying through the hedges, followed closely behind. No need for a workout that evening.
Some days I feel quite challenged to keep up with the energy that my son exudes, and, yet, I am thrilled to see the wonder and zest for life that he so easily demonstrates with each new day.
Sincerely,
Abi
