Happy New Year!
We resumed Christmas celebration on January 2 and enjoyed the holiday festivities with my husband's family. I thought it was an especially fun year with having my son (almost three and a half!), our nephew (almost a year and a half) and our niece (3 months) at such fun ages to just take in the fun (OK, my niece slept through most of it, but she's just so cute!) And my husband, whose glass is always half full, likes that we now will have celebrated Christmas twice in 2011.
During Christmas halftime my husband recovered quickly from the flu and embraced a living room project that we had been talking about for the last few months. He added a horizontal trim piece about 5 feet up from the baseboards and vertical trim along the wall, all in white. It has really brightened the room. Also, I provided a bit of help with a bridal shower that my mother-in-law hosted for the future bride of my husband's cousin. I love helping with parties!
Even though we had some unexpected turns in our holiday plans, enjoying so much time with my husband and son and our families made for a great time. And I hope the year ahead is a great one for you, dear reader!
