Dear Reader,
Over the last weeks we have spent many an hour at home. Given the pneumonia factor, I haven't been overly interested in my son spending lots of time out in the snow, so we've had to get creative about energy utilization (i.e. getting the energy out of an active three year old!) Two games have been developed.
One. My son uses his yellow plastic dump truck to pick up loads (socks from the laundry, goldfish cracker snacks, books, etc.) and delivers the load to another room of the house. He zooms the truck at a good pace and rather enjoys this task.
Two. We each take a duster and roll a foam ball back and forth to one another. My son's imagination is in high gear, as this swatting of the ball is actually deflecting a meteor bound for earth (thank you Backyardigans for this imagery!) I couldn't begin to count how much time has been spent on this game in the past four weeks.
Needless to say, I can't wait to pull out my son's bike and helmet and take him around the block. Given the snowstorm that just came through, I'm wondering how long we will need to wait for warmer weather, though the groundhogs would suggest spring is on it's way! Yes!
Sincerely,
Abi
