Dear Reader,
The following has been my favorite conversation of the day:
My son: "Mommy, are we married?"
Abi: "No, I'm married to daddy, remember? You won't be married for a while yet."
My son: "Why?"
Abi: "Because marrying someone means that you are making the decision to spend the rest of your life together."
My son: "But I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Abi: "You may change your mind about that when you get older. You will meet a girl someday that you want to marry."
My son: [nose scrunched up] "I don't think so. I just want to stay with you forever."
I am savoring these days of being one of his favorites (and also wondering how he is going to handle his first day of preschool in the fall.)
