Dear Reader,
We have been watching a remarkable development over the past few weeks. My son, like many young children, has his food favorites, and, while he is willing to try other things, he usually sticks to the basics. Even though he is a fruit lover, bananas have never been popular in our house (especially since his dad shares in a dislike of this fruit.)
A few Fridays ago my son said to me, "Mom, I think we should get some bananas from the store this weekend. I want to try them again." On our routine Monday trip to the store, we picked up a bunch. Interestingly, from Monday to Friday of that week, my little boy consumed 15 bananas. Really.
This trend has repeated itself over the weeks since then. Is he making up for the three and a half years of shunning this fruit? Was he that potassium starved that he needed a significant boost? Will he get sick of bananas at this feverish pace of consumption? Not sure. I'll keep you posted.
Sincerely,
Abi
